Welcome
to the site of Blacksmith Books, LLC. As suggested
by our logo, we are dedicated to the craftsmanship
that our ancestors achieved in a trade they mastered
when first brought to these shores. We are convinced that there is a hunger for serious contemporary works in the tradition of Edward P. Jones and Toni Morrison , despite evidence to the contrary when visiting the African-American section of the major bookstores today.
What you will find here are
titles that capture, portray, and celebrate the richness
of African-American life in all its diversity. Our
focus is on general interest books in the categories
of fiction, biography, and memoir.
We promise that you will encounter works that challenge
the conventional thinking about what it means to be
an African-American in the United States in the 21st
century. You will be introduced to works that engage,
stimulate, enlighten, and perhaps, even disturb you.
But most of all you will find works that more closely
reflect your life experiences and those of African-Americans
with whom you live, work, and interact. In
short, we’re committed to publishing quality works for the discerning African-American reader.
Thank you for visiting,
