Manuscript Submission Policy

Blacksmith Books does not consider unsolicited completed manuscripts. We will consider e-mailed query letters pasted into the body of the e-mail. For fiction, please include a 1-page synopsis, including the estimated length of the work, a description of the target audience, description of the author’s background and credentials, and ideas for marketing the work. For nonfiction, a description of the book and an outline of the chapters should be sent in place of the synopsis. Please do not send e-mail attachments.

If we are interested, we will ask to see sample chapters of the work. Please address e-mail submissions to manuscripts@blacksmithbks.com.

Please note that we do not accept poetry, romance, erotic, “street lit,’’ or “relationship” fiction. Please see about us for a description of what we publish.

Permissions

To request permission to use or quote at length material from Blacksmith Books’ publications, please send your query to the address above including the material that you would like permission to use, the name of the publication, and its print run or circulation. There may be a charge for reprinting the material.

Queries regarding foreign rights, film rights, and other subsidiary rights should be directed to rights@blacksmithbks.com.

Privacy Statement

Blacksmith Books does not share any user’s personal information with any outside person or organization. Nor does it collect or retain personal information from users who browse the Blacksmith Books' Web site to further contact them, unless such users grant permission to do so. When users submit personal information to register for a service, clear explanation is given about the use of the personal information and the further contact that may be expected as a result. Users always have the option of opting out of further correspondence.
